About Holland and Terrell Libraries
Humanities and Social Sciences Service provide assistance in finding and using printed and electronic materials for subject areas in the Humanities and Social Sciences. Reference Librarians assist patrons in locating factual information, selecting and using resources for reports, assignments, and research, and learning to use library and information resources.
Reference assistance is normally available during weekdays and weekends. Please check Hours for more detailed information. Hours vary during summer and interim periods and during holidays.
If you have a reference question, or a question about the Holland and Terrell Libraries, you may also call our desk with questions at 509-335-8516, email us with your questions at Ask a Librarian, or try our Instant Messaging reference service.
The Humanities/Social Sciences Librarians also work with specific subject areas to:
- select materials for the library collections
- provide one-on-one or group consultations on specific research questions
- provide library instruction
Librarians are always happy to schedule research consultations. While walk-ins are welcome, it's advisable to contact the librarian you would like to work with in advance to make sure that he or she is available for a meeting. You can find contact information for individual librarians on the People in Hum/Soc page.
