Library Instruction Team Promotional Document

The Library Instruction Team recently completed a promotional document.  This handout includes information about our value to WSU, quotes from satisfied customers, a featured librarian teaching statistics overview, and a list of major partner programs and initiatives.

ILE Learning Space Moved to Angel

The LI Team is in the process of moving the Information Literacy Education (ILE) learning space from its current home to be integrated into the Angel spaces of collaborating instructors.  The move is being made because of the seamless integration of library instruction materials into courses already using Angel, and the difficulties of maintaining a homegrown system.

New World Civilizations/Libraries Program

Starting in the fall semester of the 2010/2011 academic year, the World Civilizations Program and the Libraries launched a program involving library instruction and research for all GenEd 110 and 111 students.

Instruction Materials Moved to LibGuides

Over the course of the last year, the Library Instruction Team has revised its set of instructional handouts (about 200 total) and its tutorials (about 40 total) and moved them into the LibGuides content management space.  LibGuides provides for better indexing and retrieval of the learning materials, integration with library content outside the LI Team, and an efficient system for gathering assessment data about material usage.

Classes on Demand Program

The Library Instruction Department has added a new program to their plate of offerings: Classes on Demand. This new program features a variety of instructional classes sponsored by the WSU Libraries that allows small groups of Washington State University Pullman students, staff or faculty to request and schedule research workshops or productivity/social tools workshops taught by WSU librarians. Classes range from issues about Scholarly Communication to evaluating resources to social networking.
